The three Russian teams involved in the Europa League playoffs on Thursday August 18 had mixed fortunes - one victory, one draw and one loss. Spartak Moskva went to Legia in Warsaw and drew 2-2; Lokomotiv won 2-0 against Trnava while Alania lost 3-0 in Turkey to Besiktas.
