Pavarotti's last concert

World's famous tenor Luciano Pavarotti has given his last and solitary performance in the Kremlin Palace. Moscow was the first stop of the tenor’s farewell tour across Europe.
A 6,000 seat auditorium was packed with people. Russia’s famous actors, musicians and politicians have gathered to witness Pavarotti’s last performance.
The crowd cheered when Pavarotti appeared on the stage accompanied by his friend Leone Magiera, who is a composer, a pianist and a conductor at the same time. Leone started off by accompanying Maestro on the piano in the very beginning. Afterwards, he occupied conductor’s position. Maestro sang familiar operas and arias along with the State Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra. The songs were from his recently released album “Ti Adoro”.
The program entitled “Ciao, Moscow!” included about 20 pieces. Among them were Bellinni’s famous arias, Puchini, Laoncovalo, Lagara, Mascani. Young singer Simona Todaro accompanied Maestro in his performance.
In the end, Pavarotti and Simona sang his famous Brindisi from the 1st act of “Traviata. Pavarotti noted with a smile that “in Paris the song is usually performed with a glass of Champaign. In Russia, we will try to do the same with a glass of vodka.”
After the concert, the famous Italian tenor enjoyed a meal with a few lucky owners of the most expensive tickets, reports RIA Novosti.
Luciano Pavarotti leaves Moscow on his personal jet on Tuesday. He has purchased a remarkably expensive jewelry item for his wife Nicoletta as a Christmas present from Moscow.
