Alexei Kudrin, Vice Primier and Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, is heading for Washington early on Friday take part in the meeting of the G8 finance ministers and the spring session of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
During the 3-day visit Kudrin and his counterparts from 7 leading industrial countries will discuss issues of how to fight the financing of terrorism and aid to the world's poorest countries, Gennady Yezhov, the Vice Premier's press secretary reported.
At the 17th session of the IMF Financial Committee on Saturday the officials are to consider problems of the world economy and financial markets, enhancement of measures to settle financial and economic crises, elimination of their consequences and initiatives to support developing countries.
Alexei Kudrin is also to hold a series of bilateral meetings, including with US trade representative Robert Zoellick, and Finance Ministers of the US, the FRG and France.
