Assault on Baghdad Defeated by Sandstorm - 24 March, 2003

Advanced forces of the US-led coalition in Iraq have had to delay an attack on Baghdad due to a sandstorm. Arab journalists report that US Marines were unable to cover the required distance due to almost zero visibility.

The Iraqi Defence Ministry claims that the US Marines were forced to pull back due to the fierce resistance of the Iraqi army.
