Mortar attack by US troops slaughters three Iraqi civilians

A ten-year-old girl, a woman and a man were murdered by US troops today in Tikrit after a mortar shell fired by the American forces landed in their patio, according to a US military source who wishes to remain anonymous.

The US troops had been firing mortar shells into the swampy banks of the Tigris River, a routine operation to stop Iraqi Resistance fighters from taking up positions. One of the shells went astray and killed the civilians.
