The Czechs pressed more in the opening stages, getting two corners by minute 6' after which Portugal came into the game more, translated in two corners in 10' and 11', after which the Czechs had three more from 16' to 18' and then as the first half wore on, Portugal started to impose their game more and more.
Three more corners ensued for the Portuguese, with Cristiano Ronaldo providing the two greatest moments of danger, seeing a shit saved by Cech on 25' and a ball against the foot of the post on 45'.
If the Portuguese train started rolling in the middle of the first half, certainly in the second it became a roller-coaster. The Czechs managed a corner on 93'. Until then, a sample of my second-half notes reads as follows:
46' Hugo Almeida heads over in front of goal; 48' free kick Cristiano Ronaldo skims the post; 53' Ronaldo creates danger running into the area in front of goal; 55' Ronaldo gets a corner; 57' Cech saves from Nani; 58' Almeida puts the ball in the net, judged offside; 63' Moutinho shot, saved for a corner; 64' corner to Portugal; 74' Nani gets a corner; 79' 1-0 Cristiano Ronaldo scores, heading down a Moutinho cross in front of Cech, the ball bouncing up over the keeper; 82' Cech saves from João Pereira, corner.
Now if that isn't a massacre in footballing terms, I don't know what is.
