Russia Withdraws Military Equipment from Transdniestria

The withdrawal of Russian military equipment from Transdniestria was carried out "in normal conditions", the headquarters of the Russian group of forces in this self-proclaimed republic in Moldova said in connection with the departure on late Friday night of other train to Russia. The train of 32 carriages was loaded with armoured service equipment.

At the same time the next train of 20 carriages is being loaded.

In 1999 at the OSCE summit in Istanbul Russia undertook to withdraw all its armaments from Transdniestria by the end of 2002. Later the deadline was postponed till the end of 2003.
