Crocodile tears: USA chokes on Syria

Samantha Power's tantrum at the meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Aleppo showed that the Americans were put on their heels in Syria. One needs to calm down. The US modus vivendi should constantly provoke and blame the enemy, until its self-protection instinct works. Afterwards, the US simply accuses the enemy of aggression.

"What Russia is sponsoring and doing is not counter-terrorism, it is barbarism," U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, told the 15-member council that the  United States, Britain and France convened to publicly flog Russia for the alleged bombings of civilians in Aleppo.

Who created Islamic terrorism? Who started the war in Syria? Who supports the extremists, who wants to topple the legitimate government of Bashar al-Assad? Russia intervened only when the Alawites and Christians faced the real threat of being slaughtered, when hundreds of thousands of refugees inundated Europe. If Assad had fallen, the number of extremists in today's Syria would have been a lot larger.

Why are the real barbarians being so hysterical?

"Russia holds a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. This is a privilege and it is a responsibility. Yet in Syria and in Aleppo, Russia is abusing this historic privilege," Power continued.

This is an allusion to deprive Russia of the right to this seat. Was it the US that gave Russia this right? Russia earned the right when the Red Army destroyed German fascism. Does the US government want to take this right away by force?

British Ambassador Matthew Rycroft supported Power. "This weekend, the regime and Russia have instead plunged to new depths and unleashed a new hell on Aleppo," he said. According to him, Russia should create, rather than destroy the conditions required for the resumption of political negotiations, or the country will confirm its status of an international outcast.

An international outcast? Washington would not be conducting negotiations with Russia on Syria, if Russia were an outcast. What we heard from the West at the above-mentioned  meeting of the UN Security Council was not just a lack of diplomacy, but also a lack of respect for colleagues. UK and French representatives did not even listen to the Syrian representative and left the meeting room. This behavior displayed the blatant audacity of the people who have remained unpunished for the deaths and misery of millions in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Somalia and Yemen. This is the true barbarism indeed.

Today it is clear that the agreements on Syria reached in Geneva do not cost anything, and it was not Russia that undermined them. The Americans bombed the Syrian army in Deir ez-Zor and staged a provocation with a humanitarian convoy in Aleppo.

Samantha Power's tantrum says that the US coalition in Syria is close to defeat. Perhaps, it was an emotional response to the death of Western servicemen, who instruct terrorists in Syria. It goes about dozens of military men, as the Iranian media say.

How fakes are made

Western mass media use social networks or volunteers, such as, for example, so-called Syrian "White Helmets" to make news about Aleppo. The testimony of one of them - Ammar Al Celmo - was used to accuse Russia of "barbarism." His nonsensical statements are backed by the video about "strange" aircraft that are said to be Russian jets. However, according to  wordpress.com, Ammar al Celmo had worked in the propaganda department of Al Qaeda. A selfie from the source shows an employee of the "White Helmets" against the background of Syrian soldiers before their execution.

The blog also exposes the lies about Russian air strikes with the use of incendiary and bunker bombs that "kill civilians." The bombs are conventional and they fall on terrorists and their facilities. Interestingly, the first of such "evidence" appeared even before the Russian forces appeared in Syria.

All of this is nothing but another act of information warfare. Washington builds public support for its own version of events and disregards the enemy's version. Unfortunately, this is not a new trick in the US foreign policy - suffice it to recall the famous tube filled with Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons that Colin Powell was showing to the UN Security Council before the invasion of Iraq.

One is left to wonder why the Iraqis are not asking for an international tribunal? The country has no sovereignty, but Syria does.

Russia needs to remind the West that its anti-terrorist operation in Syria is legitimate. Syria is using its constitutional right to protect its people and defeat militants.

Russia and Syria have done everything possible to help the civilians escape from the war zone in Aleppo. Russia and Syria have agreed for a compromise with the West, but it only led to more terrorist provocations. After the Sabbath at the Security Council, Syria, Russia and Iran have a right to launch an offensive to finally put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people.

In addition to taking decisive actions in Syria, Russia must seek allies in Europe. Will there be a new Charles de Gaulle in the EU, who took France out of NATO in 1966 to preserve French independence? Will Europe dare to block US actions in Syria after Brexit? Are there real politicians in Europe, who know that it is Moscow, but not Washington, who can stop the endless flow of refugees? Let's wait for 2017, when Germany holds federal elections.

For the time being, we will have to listen to all those lies from the mouth of Samantha Power, just because this is a tool to receive more money from US congressmen for the development of the American military industrial complex. This fear justifies the action of hawks such as Hillary Clinton and prompts the American people to vote for her.
