Former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, ex-President of the US Bill Clinton and movie star Sofi Loren were among the nominees of prestigious Grammy Prize in Los-Angeles.
They were awarded in the nomination “The best text of the musical album for children” for recording sound to “Pety and Wolf” musical fairy-tale by Sergey Prokofiev and its second part – “Wolf and Petya” by French composer Zhan-Paskal Beintus.
Sofi Loren recorded sound for the fairy-tale by Sergey Prokofiev, Bill Clinton – to the second part, Mikhail Gorbachev recorded introductions and epilogues in English to the both fairy-tales. The organizers of this project are promising to produce the Russian version of the album soon.
Besides Gorbachev, there were other Russian Grammy prize-winners – musicians Mstislav Rostropovich and Maksim Vengerov. They were awarded with the famous Grammy for “the best performance of instrumental solo accompanied with orchestra” from the disc of record of the concerts by Britten and Walltone where Venegerov was performing Solo accompanied by London symphonic orchestra lead by Rostropovich.
American Beyonce Knowles became the recognized triumpher of Grammy Prize. She was called the best singer of R&B style for Dangerously in Love album with the best song “Crazy in Love” combining vocal and rap. In addition, she won the “Best Duet” nomination for composition “The Closer I Get To You” she performed along with singer Luter Vendross.
In this ways, Beyonce had the record result on the number of the Grammys gathered in one evening. Earlier, Alice Kiss, Nora Jones and Lorene Hill demonstrated this result, RIA-Novosti reported.
Вritish Coldplay band’s “Clock” composition won the “Record of the Year” nomination, and US hip-hop OutKast duet’s disc "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" won the “Album of the Year” nomination.
Grammy Prize in the "Discovery of the Year” nomination was awarded to Arkansas band “Evanescence” playing “Gothic rock”. Popular singers and bands Jastin Timberlake, Pink, Kaili Minoug, Metallika, White Stripes won other nominations.
Eminem and J-Z rappers also were among the prize-winners. George Harrison, Johnnie Cash and Warren Zevon were awarded posthumously.
In total, the prize was warded in 105 nominations. The winners were named by voting of 18 musical business professionals.
