Russian Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov is completing his working visit to India today. At a Delhi news conference he said that his trip was aimed at paving the way for a visit by Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Russia on November 4-7. According to the Russian official, President Vladimir Putin and the Indian Premier will discuss the present-day "far from simple world developments," especially in the South Asian region. The two countries' leaders are expected to sign a few economically important documents. According to Klebanov, in Delhi he discussed joint projects related to the construction of nuclear, hydro- and thermal power stations in India and projects in the sphere of oil and gas. Representatives of a few Russian companies who accompanied the Vice-Premier held negotiations on holding tenders for exploring and developing oil and gas deposits and for constructing oil and gas pipelines in India.
