RUSSIAN TAX POLICE TO ESTABLISH CONTACTS WITH LEBANESE COUNTERPARTS

A delegation of the main department of international cooperation of the Federal Tax Police Service arrived in Beirut on Thursday at the invitation of the interior ministry of the Lebanon. Head of the delegation, deputy chief of the main department Vasily Selikhov told RIA Novosti that the aim of the two-day visit to Beirut is to establish the first contacts with the Lebanese counterparts for the development of bilateral cooperation. According to him, members of the Russian delegation are interested in the experience of the Lebanese secret services in exposing people who evade taxation and in combating money laundering. Selikhov pointed out that they are also interested in the possible points of contact with the Lebanese side in this sphere. The head of the Russian delegation believes that this will make it possible to establish mutually advantageous cooperation between the Russian and Lebanese law enforcement bodies.
