Kris Boyd scored two goals Saturday to help Scotland rout the Faeroe Islands 6-0 in European Championship qualifying.
Boyd scored his first goal from the penalty spot in the 24th minute after James McFadden had been tackled by Jakup a Borg in the box. In the 38th, he took a pass from Darren Fletcher and sidefooted in a rebound to make it 5-0.
The hosts first scored in the seventh minute when Fletcher chipped the ball in off a cross from Kenny Miller. McFadden made it 2-0 three minutes later, scoring from the edge of the box after collecting a cross from Miller.
Scotland earned its second penalty in the 30th when Atli Danielsen handled the ball in the box. Miller took the spot kick and beat goalkeeper Jakup Mikkelsen, who dived the right way.
Scotland substitute Garry O'Connor added the final goal when he beat a diving Mikkelsen in the 85th.
The Faeroe Islands also lost 6-0 to Georgia in its opening qualifying match in Group B, which also includes France, Italy, Ukraine and Lithuania, reports AP.
