“Muslimazation” of the Russian society is taking place at an incredibly fast pace,” stated Managing Director of the Russia’s Institute of Human Rights, member of a special Human Rights Commission Kamiljal Kalandarov during Tuesday’s meeting on national ideology.
He noted that “major support of Putin's candidacy by Russian Muslims, including residents of Chechnya and Bashkiria, during the recent presidential elections” let him talk about the so-called “Muslimazation.”“However, such situation, when many Muslims supported Putin will most likely never happen again, because authorities refuse to cooperate with society,” remarked Kalandarov.
According to him, during his second presidential term, Russian President Vladimir Putin should mainly concentrate on establishing stable and just society in the first place. “That is Russia’s future,” said Kalandarov.
