Russian water polo team wins World Cup and gold medals in Yugoslavia

The Russian national water polo team has won the World Cup in Yugoslavia in men's group. The Russian team defeated the Hungarian team in the finals 10:9. The decisive goal was scored by Revaz Chomakidze five seconds before the final siren. The score by periods looks as follows: 2:3, 2:3, 2:4, 1:2.

The Russian team was awarded the Cup and gold medals.

The best player of the most prestigious tournament in Belgrade was Hungarian Tamas Kasas with 13 scored goals and the best goalkeeper was Russian Nikolai Maksimov.

Despite the nervous alertness, the final game turned out to be very interesting and spectacular, coach of the Russian team Aleksander Kabanov said to this RIA Novosti correspondent. Only the Russian team managed to beat the strongest Hungarian team twice - first time in the group competition and then in the finals.
