Living with corpses

What can be more natural – a human being dies, a body is delivered to morgue, then it is buried. Sometimes, very weird things can happen. As it turned out, it is very hard to get rid of a corpse in an apartment in a legal way.

A resident of the Yakutia republic’s town of Pokrovsk spent 7 days living in a room together with a dead body. A man died when eating, sitting at table. After he died he remained sitting like that – with his eyes open, holding a fork in his hands – for 7 days! Until local journalists interfered.

The story took place in a hostel. Maksim Khalmatov (65), a worker of the construction materials factory, died when having his lunch. His neighbor did not have any other place to stay but in the hostel; he did not have any money to bury the dead either. The administration of the hostel addressed to the local authorities with a request to take the body out of the hostel room. The police said they did not have vehicles and the public utilities claimed they were not dealing with “ownerless” corpses. Only when the rumors reached the local press, militia arrived. A half-decayed body was taken out of the hostel, thank you very much.
