The Uraza holiday, which signifies for the Moslems the end of the sacred month of Ramadan, is celebrated in Turkmenistan on Monday. In reply to the request of the elders of the country, with the aim of reviving traditions and customs, President Saparmurat Niyazov has issued a decree to proclaim Uraza-Bairam a day off. Officially, the Uraza in Tajikistan has been celebrated for the fourth year now. During the Ramadan the believers keep the fast which ends on Monday by a common service Id al-Fitr, after that the Moslems congratulate each other on the holiday.
