US Olympic Committee has to apologize for deceitful swimmers

The US Olympic Committee made an official apology to the Brazilian people for improper conduct of its athletes, who had trashed one of the local petrol stations and then claimed that they had been allegedly robbed.

'The behavior of these athletes is not acceptable, nor does it represent the values of Team USA,' the statement says.

Members of the US swimming team had previously addressed the police, claiming that they had been robbed. However, as it turned out later, the athletes returned to the Olympic village safe and sound that day, which cannot be said about the petrol station, as they had totally destroyed it.

As a result the Americans may face up to 6 months in jail for perjury.
