Russian clients fight to buy Ferrari Scaglietti Russian Edition

Ferrari is to produce 60 special cars to mark its 60th anniversary. The world-known car maker is also going to produce five special automobiles Scaglietti Russian Edition. The Russian version is to have different set of additional options.

A client from Russia has already ordered Ferrari Scaglietti Russian Edition with glass top. According to Ferrari officials this unique car will be the eighth Ferrari in their client’s collection.

Ferrari launched its Automobile Dealership in Moscow three years ago and has already managed to sell 130 automobiles to 75 Russian clients.

Employees of Ferrari Automobile Dealership in Moscow say that they often face situations when Russians come to their office with wads of dollars and euros and say that they want to buy Ferrari right now. The situation is quite difficult because the number of wealthy Russians has been growing fast recently, but they are not able to buy a Ferrari.

However, this year the company has made a step forward to meet Russian clientss demands: it has increased the quota for the country from 35 to 65 a year.

Like its customers, Ferrari is in good financial shape at the moment. Last year it made a trading profit of €183 million (a 17% improvement over the 2005 figure), and made a best-ever 5650 deliveries to its worldwide dealer network, carkeys.co.uk reports.

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is a Gran Turismo car produced by Ferrari since 2004. It is a large two door fastback coupe with a 2+2 seating arrangement. The 612 Scaglietti was designed to replace the smaller Ferrari 456M. Its larger size makes it a true 4 seater with adequate space in the rear seats for adults.

It is produced at Ferrari's Carrozzeria Scaglietti plant, the former home of the car's namesake coachbuilder in Modena, Italy. The design, especially the large side scallops and the headlights, pays homage to the custom 1954 Ferrari 375 MM that director Roberto Rossellini had commissioned for his wife, Ingrid Bergman.
