Ex-Miss Universe May Become Duma Deputy

Will the Russian beauty enter big politics?
Negotiations are held with ex-Miss Universe Oksana Fyodorova with a view to persuade the girl to run for the post of State Duma candidate representing the Party of Life. Sergey Vostretsov, the chairman of "Energy of Life", the youth department of the Party of Life told the news to Interfax. According to the chairman of the party's youth department, the negations are being held with the ex-Miss Universe to persuade her into entering the Party of Life and then probably ask her to run for the post of Duma deputy.

The Pskov news agency reports, Oksana Fyodorova was born in the city of Pskov; she graduated from the police school in 1997 and later, in 2000, she graduated from the St.Petersburg Police University with honors. In 1999, Oksana Fyodorova won the title Miss St.Petersburg and won the beauty contest Miss Russia-2001.  

In May 2002, she became Miss Universe but later on September 27 abdicated from the title and decided to devote her life to jurisprudence. In October 2002, Oksana Fyodorova was conferred the rank of police captain. In 2003, the ex-Miss Universe becomes one of the leaders of the Energy of Life youth movement.
