700 g of Amber Seized by Kaliningrad Customs - 9 April, 2003

Employees of the Bagrationovsky customs agency in Kaliningrad region on Tuesday stopped an attempt to illegally export from Russia to Poland 710 grams of raw amber. The amber was discovered at the Mamonovsky customs post while inspecting a Volkswagon automobile driven by a male citizen of Russia, according to the press service for the Northwest customs agency management. The amber was hidden in structural cavities of the car. Amber was not disclosed on the Russian's custom declaration and therefore he underwent a protocol for administrative law violation. The amber was seized.
