Real Madrid soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria are expecting their third child in March, the couple announced Sunday.
"This is fantastic news. We are both absolutely delighted. We are planning to have the baby in Spain," the couple said in a joint statement.
Victoria Beckham, 30, a former Spice Girl, has delivered two sons: Brooklyn, 5, and Romeo, 2, reports ABC News.
Their relationship has been under the media spotlight since Beckham, the world's highest paid football star, moved from Manchester United to play soccer for Real Madrid in Spain last year.
Victoria, who achieved fame as "Posh Spice" with the pop group The Spice Girls, refused to relocate to Spain because she wanted to pursue her solo singing career in Britain.
Tabloid allegations followed that Beckham had affairs with his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos - exchanging raunchy text messages with her - and a model.
Beckham publicly dismissed the claims as "ludicrous" and said he was happily married to a "wonderful wife".
Victoria told the Sun newspaper: "We've been through a lot worse than this and we're definitely going to get through this."
The couple -- who met after a football game in 1997 and were married in 1999 - later staged a public display of affection on a skiing holiday in the French Alps.
As Beckham's football career continues to rise, Victoria has only managed to find a modicum of success with her singing. Her latest single "My Love is For Real" was supposed to be released in August but was delayed, informs Reuters.
