Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev intends to make an official visit to Washington on Friday. The head of state makes this visit on the personal invitation from US President George Bush. The invitation was delivered by US Secretary of State Colin Powell during his meeting with Nazarbayev in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, on December 9. The two countries' leaders are expected to consider prospects for further consolidation of economic cooperation, including in the oil and gas sector. The agenda of the negotiations includes issues of pooling efforts in the fight against international terrorism, the situation in Afghanistan, the participation in the post-war development of this state and humanitarian aid for its people.
