Rostelecom releases H1 results

Rostelecom's net income calculated in accordance with the International Accounting Standards amounted to $29.7m in the first half of 2003, which was 42.1 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year, the company's press service reported.

The company's consolidated revenues advanced by 10.6 percent to $440.1m, while the unconsolidated revenues were $412.2m. EBITDA grew by 1.7 percent to $175.8m in the reported period.

Rostelecom is the national operator of long distance calls. The company maintains a 200,000-kilometer telecommunications network. Its largest shareholder is Svyazinvest (50.669 percent).
