Russia's large companies are considering the possibility of cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the oil and gas sector. Among them are Gazprom, Soyuzneftegaz, Stroytransgaz and the Baltic Construction Company, Yury Shafranik, the head of the council of the Russian union of oil and gas producers, told RBC. According to him, these companies are considering possible supplies of pipes and equipment for oil and gas exploration to Saudi Arabia. Shafranik also did not rule out that Russia would propose Saudi Arabia to participate in Russian projects as a direct investor. According to Shafranik, Russian companies will be ready to start working out joint projects right after all questions are settled on the level of the heads of states.
As reported earlier, a government agreement on cooperation in the oil and gas sector was signed by Russia and Saudi Arabia on September 1.
