Russian navy may sue Edmond Pope and Anatoly Babkin for damages

The Russian navy may sue U.S. citizen Edmond Pope and Russian researcher Anatoly Babkin for damages estimated at 700 million rubles. The navy believes that it has suffered that amount of damages as a result of the activities by the two men, who made data on the high- speed torpedo Shkval available to the United States, Sergei Balashov, head of the Federal Security Service investigation office, told the press on Thursday at the presentation of a book, "Pope's Spying Adventures in Russia," by Vasily Stavitsky, Interfax reports.
