The Bulgarian government has presented Russia with a new plan for privatizing the Bulgarian energy sector. According to the Bulgarian cabinet's press office, the plan would provide tax breaks for Russian energy companies working in Bulgaria. The plan is expected to be examined at a meeting of the joint Russian-Bulgarian commission on privatization at the end of April.
According to the Bulgarian government, a number of branches of the country's economy are currently undergoing a profound economic crisis, which can only be overcome with the help of foreign investment.
