The Right Pontoon Linked To The Giant-4 - Kursk Chain

A second, right pontoon has been linked to the Barge Giant-4 - Kursk system in the Belokamennaya Bay of the Kola Gulf in the night of October 18-19. According to the press service of the Northern Fleet, preparation work for placing the Kursk into the dock at the Roslyakovo shipyards outside Murmansk is proceeding around the clock. On Friday divers will check the safety of pontoons' link to the sub and measure background radiation. This operation is expected to last about 24 hours after which the sub will be manoeuvred into a floating dock, probably beginning on Saturday.
