In the past 24 hours, Chechen militants fired 11 times at the positions of the federal forces from automatic rifles and grenade-launchers, a spokesman for the joint group of forces told RIA Novosti on Thursday. Militants waged particularly heavy fire at the Chechen capital Grozny. There, they opened fire on a GAZ car with policemen, from automatic rifles and fired eight times at the check-points and police deployment areas. Near the village of Petropavlovskaya, Grozny district, militants fired at a convoy of three trucks with the officers of the Argun provisional department of the interior, who were returning to their deployment area after carrying out special operations. As a result, one of the trucks lost control and overturned. Five policemen got traumas.
