Pashtun units engaged and killed three Al-Qaeda fighters who tried to infiltrate, in the late hours of Saturday, from the North-Eastern Afghan province of Kunar to Pakistan. According to the Dawn newspaper, the clash took place 30 km away from the town of Asadabad, the administrative centre of the Kunar province. The militants' age was within 25-30 years. Reportedly, there were found several letters in Arab on them, but the Dawn does not rule out that the fighters were Afghans. Locals say that many groups of Taliban soldiers and their foreign accomplices are still hiding in the mountains of the Pakistan-bordering provinces of Afghanistan. New Pashtun authorities of these provinces together with American commandos are continuing the hunt for terrorists.
