Massive fight takes place on board long-distance flight to Thailand

A massive fight occurred on board a passenger jetliner of Russia’s Transaero airline. The aircraft was flying from Ekaterinburg, Russia, to Bangkok, Thailand. About 20 passengers argued and started fighting during the 10-hour flight to Thailand. The passengers had taken too much of alcohol while waiting for the boarding at the airport of Ekaterinburg.

One of the passenger said that the first fight started soon after the plane took off. Male flight attendants pulled the fighting passengers apart. However, the scuffle resumed soon afterwards, when the fighters’ fellow travelers decided to defend their friends’ honor.

Spokespeople for various airlines said that drunk fights occur frequently on board long-distance flights. Therefore, there is always a couple of physically strong men among flight attendants for such occurrences.

People of higher social level may also find themselves involved in similar scandals. A Saudi princess attacked an air hostess after a certain amount of alcohol beverages that the princess probably enjoyed. The lady was traveling from Paris to Boston on board a plane of Trans World Airlines. The princess was deeply disappointed with something, but the air hostess apparently did not show appropriate reaction to her demands. The privileged passenger attacked the flight attendant and scratched her skin to blood. The princess had to pay the 500-dollar fine afterwards for her obscene behavior.

Administrations of many airlines constantly try to improve flight security measures to prevent possible outbursts of alcohol-caused violence on board passenger planes. British Airways, for example, attracts debauchers to criminal account and never lets them fly the BA ever again. Such blacklists exist in Aeroflot, Transaero and other major Russian air carriers.
