Wolf Attacked People in the Heart of City

It sounded extremely incredible when witnesses said that the wolf lived in the center of the city
ITAR-TASS reports that a she-wolf was killed in the Russian city of Volgograd. Before that, the animal had been attacking people within several days. Witnesses, and official of the regional administration Oleg Malyshev among them, say that the she-wolf was in wait for people near food stores and snatched bags with foodstuffs out of their hands. In case some of the victims put up resistance, the animal bared the fangs.

The police was several times called for, but when they arrived to the incident site the she-wolf fled. It sounded extremely incredible when witnesses said that the wolf lived in the center of the city; it was believed that stray dogs attacked people.

Finally, the she-wolf was caught right at the moment when the animal attempted to snatch a pack of chips out of two girls' hands on Monday. The police had to kill the animal.

Spokesperson for the Animal Protection Foundation Dmitry Byl says that probably some hunter found a wolf cub and wanted to tame it. The experiment has obviously failed, and the animal went into the street.
