Jordan has confirmed that it recognizes the current Palestinian leadership led by Yasser Arafat as the only legal one.
Journalists learned this on Monday from the Kingdom's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shaher al-Bak.
He refuted the assertions that had appeared in some Arab mass media that Jordan will take part in consultations and negotiations to form a new leadership of the Palestinian National Authority.
The Kingdom recognizes the current legal leadership only and respects the choice made by the Palestinian people," stressed the Minister of State.
