Iranian President speaks out against colonialist tendencies

The Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, declared on Wednesday on a visit to Bandar Abbas, that Iran stands for peaceful relations with its neighbours, favouring international peace and does not intend to stand by while other nations stockpile chemical and biological weapons.

The Iranian president claimed that “enemies” have made “huge investments” to gain a foothold in the strategically important Persian Gulf and part of this is “promoting grudge and hostility among regional Muslim states.”

In answer to this, and to the hysteria in the west about Iran building nuclear weapons (where is the evidence? Is it the same evidence as that presented on Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction?) President Ahmadinejad underlines that the region of the Persian Gulf should be one of peace and friendship: "The Islamic Republic of Iran strives to have friendly ties with all its neighboring states in the Persian Gulf and to prepare grounds for the withdrawal of satanic forces.”

The Iranian President pledged not to bow to hegemony and instead, suggested that “We should play our role in materializing international peace.”

Regarding the hypocrisy in today's world, where a group of nations (which includes the only one that has already deployed nuclear and chemical weapons against innocent civilians, the USA), President Ahmadinejad concluded: “The Iranian nation cannot remain indifferent to stockpiling of chemical and biological weapons by those who claim to be supporters of human rights."
