Table-topping Russia added a further two medals to the haul of eight Golds, 5 Silvers and 6 Bronze medals from the previous days at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona.
Day 5 - Saturday July 31 – the haul today was modest compared with the previous four days which saw Russia’s heroes shoot into first place in the medals table, with eight Golds, five Silver and six Bronze medals: Saturday saw another Silver and bronze medal, taking the total tally to 8 Golds, 6 Silvers and 7 Bronze medals.
Nailya Yulamanova won a Silver medal in Saturday’s Women’s Marathon, with a time of 2:32:15, behind Lithuania’s Zivile Balciunaite (2:31:14) and ahead of Italy’s Anna Incerti (2:32:48).
In the Women’s 200 metres, another medal, this time a bronze, for Aleksandra Fedoriva (22.44) behind France’s Myriam Soumaré and Ukraine’s Yelizaveta Bryzhina.
