Incessant rains over the past two days inundated rice paddies and damaged hundreds of houses in five provincial districts in the central Indonesian region.
The worst hit was the Sinjai District on the province's eastern coast, where 31 people were found dead, more than a dozen were missing and 10 others were in critical condition, a police official said. The five other deaths occurred elsewhere in the province, according to the AP.
