A suicide car bomber rammed into two vehicles carrying foreigners in western Afghanistan on Thursday, killing at least one foreigner, a police official said.
The identity of the person killed in the attack in the western city of Herat, 630 kilometers (400 miles) west of Kabul, was not immediately known, said Herat deputy police chief Ghulam Sarwar Haydari.
A spokesman for a NATO-led peacekeeping force that is responsible for security in Herat, Maj. Luke Knittig, confirmed there was a suicide car bombing, but that none of the force's troops was involved. He gave no other details reports the AP.
