Alaskan volcano erupts
A volcano on an uninhabited island erupted early Wednesday, spewing an ash plume about 5 miles (8 kilometers) into the sky.
The ash from Augustine &to=http://english.pravda.ru/world/2000/12/19/1540.html' target=_blank>Volcano was expected to steer clear of Anchorage, the state's most populous city nearly 200 miles (322 kilometers) to the northeast, meteorologists said.
