Condoleezza Rice, the US President's National security adviser, does not expect any breakthrough to be reached in the course of the Russian-American summit meeting in Shanghai in relation to anti-missile defense, reduction of nuclear arsenals and establishment of new strategic boundaries in relations between the two countries. According to the report of the RIA Novosti correspondent, she stated that to journalists on Friday in Shanghai when commenting on the article published in the "New York Times" daily where it was ascertained with reference to representatives of the American administration that the USA and Russia were "approaching a breakthrough" in those matters. Having stressed that the Russian and American delegations were presently "steadily working" on all those problems, Bush's adviser reported that negotiating parties did not expect "to reach any agreement" in this respect.
