The APEC /Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation/ leaders will focus on the aggravating economic situation in the world and ways of preventing global economy crisis at their informal meeting in Shanghai on October 20-21. The leaders will also discuss issues of cooperation with the World Trade Organization with the view of improving the structure of the world trade, Sergei Vasilyev, executive secretary of the Russian commission on APEC issues told RIA Novosti Friday. "Improvement of the structure of international financial architecture" and several global problems are also on the agenda of the leaders' informal meeting, Vasilyev noted. According to him, the APEC leaders will discuss struggle against international terrorism "as a separate issue and will make a separate statement on it." The leaders of 21 countries and territories of Asia-Pacific region are participating in the APEC summit.
