While appearing at an extraordinary session of parliament on Thursday, Georgian Interior Minister Kakha Targamadze announced that he was resigning. The session discussed free speech in the country after a recent attempt by special services to search the offices of the television company, Rustavi-2. The minister of state security, Vaktang Kutateladze, left his post yesterday. Parliamentary speaker Zurab Zhvaniya announced on Thursday his intention to step down, if Targamadze resigned.
