The first column of trucks carrying food for the population of Afghanistan, arrived at the destination - the Faizabad city. The column including 30 trucks, refuelers, and accompanying vehicles have delivered 150 tons of flour to Faizabad, and three other columns are still on their way. The operation is being carried out in the framework of the UN World Food Programme. The humanitarian operation is provided by the Russian Emergencies Ministry. The UN, United Kingdom, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are participating in it too. It is planned to deliver 9,000 tons of food to Afghanistan till January 15. Russia continues its aid to the Islamic State of Afghanistan according to bilateral agreements. Over 30 railway carriages and flatcars with food, tents, mobile power plants have already arrived in Tajikistan from Russia. They are handed over to Afghani authorities in Dushanbe (the capital of Tajikistan).
