Introduction of euro into circulation will positively affect trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the European Union. This is the opinion expressed by head of the European Commission representation in Russia Richard Wright, who spoke at the second international conference Euro-2002 underway in Moscow. Wright noted that introduction of euro into circulation will play a special role for Russia, since the EU share in Russia's foreign trade turnover currently amounts to 35 percent. According to him, after the EU expansion, when it comprises 27-28 countries, its share in Russia's foreign trade turnover will amount to about 50 percent.
