Last night the helicopters of the Israeli Air Force delivered missile strikes at Palestinian targets in the north of the Gaza Strip. As a result of the strikes, a serious damage was inflicted on the building of the headquarters of the Palestinian elite police unit Force-17 in the township of Beit-Hanun. The Israelis say that the strikes were delivered in response to the shelling of Jewish settlements from mortars in the Gaza Strip. In the evening on Monday the settlement of Gush-Katif was shelled. According to the Israeli data, six mortar shells were fired against it. One of them exploded near a residential district; it wounded two children and damaged several houses.
