Russia attaches key importance to ensuring long-term stability in Bosnia and in the Balkans as a whole, Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov said during his meeting with Premier-cum-Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdzija last Tuesday. The head of the Bosnian government has arrived in Moscow on a working visit. According to Ivanov, Moscow is ready to take all the possible efforts to develop friendly relations with Bosnia and contribute to the creation of "a strong multi-ethnic state" in the former Yugoslav republic. He also stressed that Russia played an important role in the political settlement of conflicts in Bosnia.
