The Russian Federation's Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, who arrived in South Africa on an official visit December 14, is to negotiate with his South African counterpart Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and meet with president of South Africa Thabo Mbeki here today. Both Foreign Ministers would be expected to discuss bilateral trade-and-economic cooperation, in the first place. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow and Pretoria have so far failed to solve quite a few problems in this field. Ivanov's current visit aims to rectify the situation. The Russian Foreign Minister also intends to meet former South African president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela.
