Border guards found four caches containing approximately 60 kg of various drugs on the Tajik-Afghan border last weekend. A large shipment of drugs, approximately 51.58 kg of heroine, has been confiscated on the border sector guarded by the Pyandzh border unit. On Saturday, servicemen of the Ishkashim border unit found a cache containing approximately 9 kg of marijuana. According to a spokesman for the Russian Frontier Service, drug dealers have started looking for other routs to smuggle drugs via the Tajik-Afghan border following the stabilisation of the situation in the northern regions of Afghanistan.
