A field military hospital Jordan set up in Mazar-e-Sharif, northern Afghanistan, will be open next week. Some 200 doctors and nurses have already arrived in the hospital, and the lacking equipment will be delivered to the hospital this week-end. The hospital is situated on the territory which was earlier swept of mines and cleared of debris. Some 150 Jordanian commandos of the international peace-keeping forces will guard the hospital, its personnel and the storages. The Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper of Saudi Arabia writes that the hospital will first of all conduct treatment and rehabilitation of the wounded and civil residents of the city. Simultaneously, in hospital Afghan residents will receive medical training.
