In May a Russian business delegation will tour Gabon. This was reported Thursday by Paul Tangi, Minister for Mines, Energy and Hydraulic Resources, and Oil of Gabon, at a meeting between a delegation of the Gabonese republic and the governor of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Yakovlev. Agreement on the tour was reached earlier, when the Gabonese delegation to Moscow visited the Russian Industrialists' and Entrepreneurs' Union, said Tangi. He proposed to St. Petersburg businessmen that they participate in this business trip. Tangi spoke of prospects of would-be cooperation between Russian businessmen and the Gabinese republic. Now there are several free licenses in the ore-mining industry, he said. According to him, "there is an opportunity for participation of Russian businessmen in getting licenses for the production of gold and diamonds". Richard Onuvier, Gabonese Minister for Water Resources and Fishing, said that his republic plans to build a fish cannery. "Russians should think of contributing to the construction of this enterprise," he said.
