An all-Russian festival of ethnic and non-Olympic sports, devoted to Children's Day, which is marked on June 1, will be held in Moscow from May 24 to 25.
Competitions feature such rare sports as Keryash Tatar-Bashkir wrestling, fire drills, and mini-water polo. Organisers also remembered more traditional sports: rock climbing, streetball, Tae kwon do, and darts.
Although none of these forms of sport is included in the Olympic Games programme, they are very popular in Russia.
The tournament is sponsored by the Committee for Ethnic and Non-Olympic Sports of Russia. The Olympic Committee of Russia has concluded a deal with it on partnership and coordination.
