Aleksandr Golovenko: Tamara Rokhlina may be going free today

Later today, the presidium of the Moscow Region’s court is to consider a surprise protest by Russia’s Supreme Court which has found Tamara Rokhlina’s indictment unlawful and groundless, and her guilt unproved. Earlier, many media outlets described Mrs. Rokhlina as the true murderer of his husband, General Lev Rokhlin. The Procurator General’s office has kept on stubbornly insisting on its accusations using every trick at its disposal. Of late, Mrs. Rokhlina has been held in a prison hospital being treated for hart failure. I wonder what secrets Mrs. Rokhlina may possess, if someone is so anxious to hold her behind bars as long as possible. And what responsibility has the procurator general’s office to bear for accusing knowingly innocent person and covering up the true killers. All in all, let’s not be hasty with announcing Mrs. Rokhlina free.
